The letter from Albert Einstein calls attention to the falsehood of superiority rooted in pride. A false conception that runs people from Christianity is ‘the only way you can be a good or happy person is through Jesus.’ It’s a statement and belief stemming from the superiority of Abrahamic faith. While all Abrahamic faith is not Christian, Nonbelieving observers look at the global history of Abrahamic religions and equate them with God.
The history is one of power and violence. From the schisms to the war of the Roses, to the Tudor reign, to the unethical takeover of the New world, the Americas. Our ways are far from Christ teaching. The history of American Christianity is brutal from leptospirosis to smallpox to slavery. We recently witnessed an insurrection where many held signs and embraced the slogan God, Guns and Trump. Unfortunately, people equate these behaviors thar are contrary to the teachings of Abrahamic faith with Christianity.
Einstein hits the nail on the head addressing the false claims of superiority. As we examine science and religion with a spirit of truth, we will see science only proves God is far bigger than we can imagine.
God is too big for onlies. With the help of science, we get a minute glimpse into infinite thought and creation. With a spirit of truth instead of pride, we can begin to understand the true benefits of developing a relationship with Jesus.
